Default Spare tire mount info requested.

My 1907T does not have a factory spare tire mounting device. It merely has a plate welded mid-bumper with 2 holes in it. These holes do not match up with the holes in the spare wheel. So I need a mounting device. Does anybody have an idea where I can get one? It doesn't have to be HI LO as far as I am concerned. It just has to fit my bumper's holes and my spare tire's holes. Thanks for any info.

you could buy one at any rv supply store, but they have to special order it. I would just build one, if you have a use of a welder and some scrap square tubing. mine has an angle welded to top and bottom of the bumper which gives it better support to the thin gauge bumper and you have four holes for the spare tire bracket. then you could custom size it to your size. or find a welder to fabircate it to your drawing for a trade(would be a cost savings)
I wouldn't mount anything other than the spare tire to the back bumper because of the stress it would cause to the rear of the frame.

chromaxx,

Here are two online sources for a generic spare tire carrier:

Tire Carrier - RV bumper mount spare tire carriers or http://store.jandsrvparts.com/tire-carriers.html

The following carrier is on sale for $9.99! http://store.jandsrvparts.com/15-954720.html

I'm not sure this would exactly fit the flat steel bracket welded on the back bumper of your Hi-Lo, BUT you may only have to drill new holes to match the bolt hole pattern on the bumper plate. Incidentally, the carrier on sale looks remarkably similar to the spare tire carrier that came as a factory optional accessory on our 1969 Hi-Lo.

Jim
