Check the cable for brakes in the insulation. If water can get in the wire inside will corrode. That will cause resistance when in use in turn heat the wire.

Bunk bed with mattress and hardware From a 2401 hilo.
Had to rebuild the side of the camper and am not putting the Bunk bed back in.
Pickup only, I'm SR84 between Lubbock TX and Clovis NM...
