Try some WD-40 and let it run for several minutes. If it frees up then use heavy oil or thin grease.
Hopefully you will get it freed up. The WD-40 will act like a solvent and very light lube.

When I worked on park models we would open them up for about ten minutes in the summer with a fan helping to vent the unit...
