When I tighten mine I take it until I can only get 1/2 turn more.
Very tight.
as was stated NO lubricant.
Think of it as a disc brake pad.

I do have the ezlift sway bar, and ez lift spring arms and hitch on my trlr.

When the sway bar is properly mounted to the balls on the frame and hitch you just crank down the adjust arm...
