We carry two, battery powered fans. They can run for a very long time on 4 D-cells. We also carry a 110 VDC, 9" diameter. We use this one when we are camping at a location with power.

I don't think that the new ones use more power. On the contrary, we now can replace the lights with LEDs and replace the stereos with modern ones that draw less power.

I haven't camped more...
