It is not 100% guaranted that they couldn;t break in the door with the top down. They just would have to spend time destroying the trailer.

Theif proof

Without the battery they would be unable to activate the lift switch to raise the HiLo up. You could hook up cables to your tow vehicle and get it to raise up. The more time they have to fool it...
