Hi All, I bought a 1992 21' FunLite last November and need to get tires for it before some several hundred mile trips we have planned. The more I read online, the more I get confused. I think I need to stick with 13" to fit in the wheel wells, which limits my choices. I have been told it is unlikely I could upgrade to 14" to get more tire choices. I assume the problem is tire width, not diameter. Is that correct?

The trailer has a mix of bias ply and radial as purchased. I know I need them all the same. There are pros and cons for both. Which type do you recommend?

Is there a preferred brand in the 13" size? Lots of China made choices. The Maxxis M8008 sounds good for a radial, but only has a 62mph speed rating and are the most expensive by a big margin. Cheaper and rated for at least 81mph are Carlisle and Kenda tires in both bias and radial and other names no one has ever heard of. Hankook used to make a 13" trailer tire, but those appear to have been discontinued. Any brand recommentation for lots of highway miles?

Thanks in advance.

Also I forgot to ask about Load Range. The originals specified on the trailer were Load Range B at 35psi. It has LRC on it as purchased. Owners Manual says not to run higher pressure than 35. I will not consider a LRB, even if I could find them. It seems that LRC provides enough margin and I see no value in going to LRD (60psi capable) and running them at LRB to LRC pressures (35 to 50psi). Your thoughts on Load Range?

I have Carsile tires on my HiLo. Two TT and several sets of tires. If you run into any problems you may need to take the wheel fender skirt off and or let air out of the tires. You are correct that you don't want too wide of a tire. It will rub on the wheel well. I have one Funlite decal for sale. It consists of all black letters.

After having several tires rated for 60 mph shred while pulling my Tow Lite I strongly recommend you get the tires rated for 80 mph. I replaced all mine plus the spare.

Our tires are seven years old. Time to replace. Not worth a blow out. I will price tires tomorrow. Hoping my RV dealer will give me some with out the tariff price. I will be sure to check code dates. Last year DH must have kissed a curb and put a small tear in the tire. We were on a fairly long trip and it held air all the way home. We always have a spare. Replaced at $197.00. A whole set is a Christmas present to our self.

I put Load Range E Goodyear Endurance tires on my HiLo. They are speed rated to 87 mph. I think they are great and recommend them to anyone looking for new trailer tires. Sadly, I just looked and didn't find them in 13" wheel size though. Like Douglas said, I recommend trailer tires with the higher speed ratings, so you can safely keep up with traffic.

Thanks all. After a LOT of study, I ended up ordering Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires in the original 13" size. Speed rated to over 80mph. Seem to be rated good by customers. Just waiting for the "bolt in" valve stems to come it before I get them mounted. I want the bolt in stems so I can run my existing screw on tire pressure sensors.
