I need help. My frig was doing fine in Oct. We are getting ready for a trip and it want start in either mode. Panel lights want even come on. We have checked fuses and breakers and the wiring is all hot. Any ideas what it could be?. I read where someone said take back panel off and plug directly into frig. We are going to try that but in the mean time if you are anyone else has a suggestion we would like to hear it. Thanks.

Replace fuses any way. If the ref. has a yellow powder then you are looking at replacement. Chill and freeze all your food. Use dry ice or small freeze packs. How old is the ref? A quick replacement would be a small dorm electric ref. Some have looked to the boating industry for replacement. Danfoss DC compressor fridge Nova Kool 12v compre4ssor. Three way fridges are no longer available. Some have just replaced the cooling unit with an Amish built. The claim is they are better than original. Some have replaced witrh A Nomedic 12v 160L..I have a cooler that keeps food cold with ice for five days. I could easy be in the same predicement as ours is the original ref. Use a volt meter to see if the ref. is getting power.

Jana - I don't know the age of your trailer, but mine has an inline fuse (not on the fuse panel) that may have blown. I suspect you'd find it behind the fridge if you took the back panel off. I know there's a little 1A fuse there for the fan that cools the condenser.

I asked DH for advice. It could be the control module on the panel. It could be a bad computer board. Hot wires means you have a short. Best of luck with trouble shooting.

Her profile lists her HiLo as a 2002. I had my HiLo out to J&R in OHIO. They took my refrigerator vent off because it was poorly sealed with butyl tape from the factory. Stated once you remove the refrigerator vent it will need replacement.
