Hi All,
Like is typical, on my 1993 21' Funlite, my telescoping sewer vent pipe is not attached to the roof as the pipe flange is broken off. I think I have a way in mind to fix that, but I first have to address two related issues:
1. I need to fix water damage around the part that goes thru the roof.
2. I would like to better align the lower part with the part that goes thru the roof, as when the roof is down, they are misaligned by about a half pipe diameter. I think I can address this by enlarging the hole in the top of the bathroom cabinet and covering it with an escutcheon as the cabinet itself cannot be moved.
My first issue is to fix the water damage around the vent pipe section that penetrates the roof. I have to remove the section of pipe to do that. I have the outside over off and have removed the screws from the inside "retainer", but have been unable to get either the inside or outside plastic parts separated from the short section of galvanized pipe the penetrates the roof. Who knew that plastic could "rust" in place to a galvanized pipe? Does anyone have any tips on getting these pieces apart other than cutting off either the inside or outside plastic pieces? I think the pipe will pull out either way - it is loose and twists, but the plastic fitting are too large to go through the hole in the roof.
If I end up having to cut plastic pieces off, does anyone know of a source for replacement parts?
Thanks in advance!!!
