Default Curtains

I have a 2005 17-ft Towlite. How do I remove the curtains from the valances so I can wash them?

They are stapled on. It isn't that big of a production to remove them though. You will need to remove the valances themselves first. You should be able to find the screws by running your fingers lightly over the fabric covering the valances. Once found, move the fabric enough to get a screwdriver on the screw heads and remove.

Then, you just pry the staples out. I started them with a thin flat bladed screwdriver then finished the removal with a pair of dikes (Diagonal cutters for cutting wire). If you are handy, you might even fit some velcro on when re-assembling so you don't have to worry about removing the valances again.

Depending on how old your rig is, you may want to hand wash the valence fabric in woolite or comparable. As you probably know, old fabric can be very frail.

Great hint Fireballsocal- my 2006C needs the side panels washed and the unstapeling, washing and then velcro application is what I am going to do. Thanks for the idea.

I am attempting to remove the valence over the dining table in my 22t. Apparently, there is one more screw somewhere in the middle that I can not seem to locate. I looked beneath the cloth and on top...don't see anything but I know it is attached to the wall in the middle. Anyone have any idea where that screw is ?

Can you look up underneath the valance from the bottom? On mine, the screw heads were all hidden by the fabric that is wrapped around the top of the valance but they were visable from the bottom also.

Ckindle,
Be patient and look again for a screw under the valence fabric. A screw that I had trouble finding actually looked like a little hole. The screw head was buried in the valence wood and it took all my patience to finally figure out.

Thanks for the responses. I did find the screw(s). There were actually 5 in total. 2 on the ends, one in the middle, and two between the ends and the middle. So, if you ever have to take this valance off..
