Default outside "step porch light" not working? Any ideas?

The 1993 Hi-Lo I just bought works great. everything is fine except the light on the outside of the door. I checked the connections at the 2 wire nuts and everything is good. the bulb is fine because I checked it in another interior light. The fuse is also fine. My guess is the light switch itself is bad. Any ideas?

Default outside lt.

We had to replace our exterior lt switch x2. The one we got from our HILo dealer/came from china and it is a piece of garbage Hubby was able to find a switch at Radio shack.he soldered it into the trailer.

Pop the switch out and jumper the wires. If the light comes on, then you know the switch is bad. New switches can be had at any rv dealer, J & R, or possibly Radio Shack.

I'll have to check, but if I recall correctly, my '94 HiLo uses a different bulb in the interior fixtures.

All my interior bulbs are dual-contact 1057 bulbs, if I recall correctly. My exterior light bulb is a single-contact bulb.

Do you have a test light? Verify power/current/continuity before you do anything else. Mine LOOKED as though all the connections were well made - but the test light showed otherwise. Lead me right to the weak spot. Quick tidy up on the connection, correct bulb install, and SHAZAAM - we now have a working exterior light.

Another thing to check is the connection of the wires at the light fixture. The hot wire and ground wire are usually attached with a soft rivet and this connection becomes loose from vibration. Try to move the wires under the rivet and see if the light comes on and if the wires are loose solder them to the fixture.

Our clear step handle is not lighting. Our former truck camper handle lighted. We keep asking campers, but no one seems to expect these to light. Anyone have a lighted one?
