Default updating

Hi all -
I have been appointed to my parents HiLo (17 footer) from 06 or 07. It seems to be in good condition, however i wanted to do some slight / minor updates just to make it a bit more comfortable. I'd like to get new bed / bench pads or re-upholster them. If anyone has any suggestions with those and any thing else i can do, please let me know. Thanks.

Ben

I don't know what sort of bed your model has, but I assume the main bed is a fold out couch. If your going to re-upholster it, then you might want to consider replacing the original foam with some sort of memory foam, perhaps with a dense base material. There are companies that will make custom cushions with high quality bedding material. I thought about doing this with ours, but as the upholstery was in decent shape, we opted to go with a memory foam topper. The advantage to having a custom cushion is that you don't have to fool with storing a topper, and you can have a thicker cushion as well.

Having a really good bed to sleep on at night is a high priority for most of us.

You have a pretty late model Hi-Lo. I'm not sure re-upholstering would really make it more comfortable. Unless of course - you do something like what Neal and Bev describe - with memory foam.

I think some higher end new RV's are currently making their benches out of 2 types of foam....the bottom being a firm foam for support with the top 1/2 being for comfort - perhaps a memory foam type...they then glue them together as one piece. This might be a little pricey.

Or you could always just buy the memory foam and lay that over your bed at night. Of course you have to then figure out where to put the bulky, heavy thing during the day.
