Default Another NOOB here

Hi All...my name is Scott. Just acquired my first travel trailer today - my uncle and I did some "horse-tradin' " and I ended up with his '97 28B Hi-Lo. I've wanted it for awhile now, but today he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. While it's 18 years old and far from perfect condition, it's been used very little in its lifetime and I'm looking forward to getting it "ship-shape" and enjoying it.

I sure will...just towed it home yesterday (a short distance) - want to remove the tarp and set it up to check it out. I'll get some photos then. Thanks, Sam!

Do yourself and the trailer a favor by getting rid of the tarp. If it's a plastic tarp it will trap moisture inside the trailer and cause things to rot. If there is a leak that is a different story. Try to make air space between the trailer roof and walls so air can circulate.

Here's the best way I thought to show it...

Hi-Lo Slideshow by scottq60 | Photobucket

Yeah...the tarp isn't going back on it. My uncle said he revealed the roof 2 years ago. After opening it up today, I can see some prior water damage to the ceiling panels and a water spot on the bed spread...so I want to determine if the roof is fixed or still leaking. It's supposed to rain today, so shouldn't take long to determine if the leak(s) is/are active.

Wow!! Amazing HiLo. Looks to be in new condition. Hope any leaks you find are easily fixable. You may want to check out the operational videos listed in the forum.

What they ^^^^^all said. Plus one more thing to "rain on your parade." The trailer was last licensed in 2007. That means that the tires are at least nine years old. In the RV business that means that they are twice as old as what is acceptable. The internet is full of stories about blown tires and the damage they cause. Great looking trailer, by the way!

Agreed. Nice looking set -up ( as well as the Mustang in the Garage). Get that leak fixed then take off. Keep in mind, as with all leaks, that the spot where the water gets in isn't always where it ends up. Good luck and keep us posted.
