Default New to hilo ownership

Just bought a 1989 Hilo Voyager. Having problems getting the motor to turn on. New battery, new solenoid. Tried bypassing switch at solenoid.

motor making any noise at all? if not motor brushes ,or armature, shot. pump or motor could be locked/froze up from sitting also. try to manually turn motor and pump w/wrench or by hand see if they turn. disconnect if need b from the motor coupler. idk just a suggestion. did you check for voltage first off at motor? with key on? or does it have to be on those idk?

Grounding is sometimes a problem. Check the negative wire that bolts to the pump housing.

Default Got the top up

I ran my jumper cable to the motor positive side. It lowers,no problem. Where can I fan a solenoid?

Any auto parts store. It is a Ford type solenoid. Take a picture of the wiring setup before you remove it. Take it with you as there are several different Ford solenoids.
