Default New to the community

Hi all. I am new to camping in a camper. We were given a 1987 HI LO. We were excited until we tried to lower it. It will not lower. not sure what to do. everything else works and its in great shape. wondering if it could be a simple fix and worth fixing or should we just give up? If anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong i would appreciate it. I really dont want to give it up.

mymitzee, I'd suggest you go to the "reference" section, click on the "Hi Lo brochures"Hope that helps. . The first one are videos of all the Hi Lo systems. These videos were made more recently than the age of your unit, but are VERY similar, with switch or component locations being the only difference.

You must have a good charged up battery for the lift system especially for lifting the top. Lowering requires enough battery power to activate the lowering solenoid.

We figured out the issue. The lock bar is not coming up high enough. now we just have to figure out how to fix that so he does not have to go underneath to release it every time.

Default Welcome to the forum

Our forum members are great with advice and helping to solve problems. Be sure to do all the necessary preventive maintenance. It is very important that you take out all the windows and reseal with butyl tape and Lexel caulk. Utube has a tutorial on how to do this. Many an owner suffered wall/water damage because this wasn't done. Myself included.
