Default Yosemite National Park

Back yesterday from a week at Yosemite Park , great time.Spent first part of week camped at Wawona Campground near Mariposa grove of giant Sequoia trees. Made reservation at campground 6 months ago and got a good site right on the Merced river. The Seguoia trees are awesome, 2000 years old , 300 feet tall and some 40 feet in diameter. They are some of the oldest living things on the planet.
Second part of the week in Yosemite Valley in the upper pines campground . Nice site at back of campground , on a small creek . Hiked the valley and it is such a special place , beauty everywhere. The park was not that crowded , the fire kept a lot of people away , and we only had a little smoke one day . For the most part the wind kept the smoke out of the park and you could see no sign of the fire. It is in the NW corner of the park and not visible at all from most of the park.
The first picture with my Hi-lo is with El Capitan in the background , that is the first thing you see when you come out of a long tunnel and enter Yosemite Valley.

My wife and I love Yosemite. We last camped there in our previous TT about 17 years ago. On the last day it started snowing, so much so that I had to put tire chains on the truck and trailer to leave the park. After we left the snow turned to heavy rain and the valley flooded. The campground we had been at ended up underwater for a few days.
