Smile hi-lo cables gone bad

Im thinking about looking at a 74 hilo but im told it wont go up.That the cables are broke.Any idea on how hard they are to change and what kind of money im i looking at spending?

Changing the cables is a very do-able job, there is a bit of work involved. Here is a very good DYI document that was submitted by a member of the Hi-Lo community. It's not the same model as your's, but its still the same process.

its a piece of cake dont sweat it,if you get a deal on it go for it you can change all 4 in a few hrs, just make sure thats all it is,there are alot of pullies in these units some can be time consuming to replace,
