I also have the heat strip in my AC but it doesn't work if it gets 40 degrees or below, why not just let it be and have it as a backup heat source? Sounds like to me you're needing more storage...

Maybe I'm just an old fool, aren't these rims made of steel? So how could adding 15 more pounds of pressure to them cause any type of damage to the rims. I'm also a big supporter of not running tires...

shower curtain
My unit has no shower curtain. Where can I pick one up at? I figure if needed one could use a couple of normal ones and overlap them. Would be nice to have just one that goes clear around though....
