Default Restroom/Shower Configuration

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has come across a way to make the showers in a Hi-Lo hard-sided (i.e., firm walls vs only shower curtains).

Maybe 'U' shaped walls with weatherstripping on the edges that are slightly smaller in circumference than the rest of the shower, allowing it to slip into place when the trailer is lowered/raised (?) Then only one small shower curtain would be needed in the front (like a 'normal' shower).

OR maybe hinged siding that folds up/down for pre/post setup and teardown. Smiler to what you'd see in a pop-up truck camper wet bath or shower.

Finally, I am thinking about replacing the shower pan with a raised side 'tub' to enable the wife to bath the kiddies AND help with the shower curtain issue already mentioned.

Any thoughts, ideas, experiences you have would be helpful so I don't reinvent the wheel.

Thanks!!

Deeper tub should work fine.

Default Shower walls

Someone did exactly what you are proposing. I tried to find this in the picture albums with no luck. The deeper bath tub in both my HiLo's would work well for children's baths.

I saw on another forum where someone bought a small inflatable kiddie pool and placed it in the shower pan to bathe their little ones. It is a cheap and easy mod.

I bought a big tub at Target that is used for storage and put it in the shower. I use it to extend my gray tank. I dump it in the shower when I empty the tanks.

Simple and cheap can be better as the kids grow so fast. Mine did overnight. If you make any major change do it for yourself and your future unless you are too bored and would rather remodel your camper instead of going camping.

Did you do a major bathroom remodel in your house for the kiddies ?

Default Your shower mod

Hello Diver Dan,

Rest assured you are not the only one who
has considered such a modification.
The size and layout of your current Hi Lo
will determine what options you have.

For ideas you may have already looked
at the Trailmanor and the A-Liner approach.
www.Grainger.com might provide further
tub ideas, keeping weight a major consideration.

Truck campers often have clever solutions, too.

If considering an elaborate change, you may
want to construct a model first, to debug
potential problems.

Two sayings might guide your design,
"Keep it Simple, Sir" (KISS)
and
"Where there is a will there is a way".

Do please post pictures of your project.

GoCamp.
