Exactly what Gary said! The rubber stems flex and allow the TPMS sensors to bang against the wheel rims, which causes them to break. Guess how I know? But, I think I was one of the first users to experience this and TireMinder (my TPMS brand) replaced the three sensors that broke this way free for me. I don't think they will do that now, and they have a warning to use metal valve stems to keep this from happening.
Here's a link to an updated version of the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Minder-Resear...E5PHTWB4QNFPXX
It shows you pressure AND temperature in up to 6 tires. I use 6 sensors - 4 on my truck's wheels and 2 on the single trailer axle on my HiLo. I'd recommend you do the same. The additional tongue weight puts quite a bit of stress on the tow vehicle's wheels. The temperature monitoring is an early warning of impending problems.
