Spare tire mount on 2008 Towlite
Had the unfortunate experience of a blow out on my 2708 Towlite in the high desert of southern Utah. What a major design flaw to mount the spare up under the ear bumper, just bolted up there on the frame. Was not fun laying on the 120 degree+ shoulder surface unbolting and then hoping I don't get clobbered with the tire.
Has anyone come up with an alternate way to carry that spare and still have access to the rear compartment? Mounting a rear bumper spare rack does not seem possible.

Never saw one under the trailer, but there is a lot of things I never saw. Both of my trailers have the spare mounted on the bumper, factory welded on tabs to bolt the spare mount to
Here is a pic of the 95 and one of the 09.

My award trailer had it mounted under the back with a swing out contraption, either case it was no picnic to get to it, but what I would do is unhook the trailer and drop down the nose which would raise the back end giving you a little more room, try it in the rain, will make you carry the tire in the trailer

Trailer spare tire mount
On our 1997 f250 the tire was mounted underneath the truck .One time dh went to remove it to check the air and discovered the holder was fused shut probably due to road salt. Not fun in the winter with no garage. Now we have our truck tire in the cap and the trailer tire sits in the center of the spare truck tire.

The spare tire on my 2209T is mounted on the bumper. The spare is above the bumper.

The past owner of my 2206 had a welder add a 4x4 angle iron to the thin gauge bumper which also was welded to the frame and reinstalled the tire carrier to the angle iron. Thus made the support stronger to carry a bike carrier on the spare tire.

On our 91, the spare is between the hitch rails, behind the propane tanks. Tight Fit, and you have to raise the top to get to it, but it sounds better than having it drop out of the bottom.
