Seperating the halves.
I have a 1990 25ft. Classic. We started our water repair damage in Sept.and finished in Feb 2012. We didn't seperate the halves because of the weather. It made getting all the rotted pieces harder to get out. Some time after that we seperated the halves for seal replaceent. Finaly had some small pieces fall out. I'm sure all rot is out. This doccument shows how to seperate the halves. Cable replacement in my 1998 HiLo 24TD. 3-3-2010. I would seperate the halves if I had to do it again. Mark the cable bolts between the wheels on the drivers side. Use a magic marker. When you are all done you will know what position your bolts go back in. Keep the questions coming.

we still need to separate. thats next winter there is major dry rot in the plywood that holds the top half away from the bottom half plus i hate the plastic that trims out the division.

Wow! Nice work. I have a 1967 same model. It was taken care of by the owner. It doesn't leak as of now, but I want to seal the roof. I am painting the exterior.
Thanks for all the pictures and details.
Don

Just a recap on how the maintenance has been on the roof. I have waxed it twice no more than three times.
I want to see a black one, with a sliver base and two axles.

Thanks for sharing.
Love your pictures and descriptions. I'm sure some other HiLo owner will benefit from your detailed work.
