I need a good used or new bumper cover for my 1997 Classic 26RD. Will appreciate any ideas regarding where I might find one. Thank you

If you are talking about the covers that plug each end of the bumper where the sewer hose is stored, they are available just about anywhere. They are a standard size. Camping World or any RV parts place should have them.

Bumper cover
Thanks for your reply. This is the grey colored fiberglass cover for the whole bumper and the storage area.

I don't know that you'll be able to find that except maybe through J&R. It could be made up rather easily though by a sheet metal shop. The only thing that might be hard would be to match the color. I think you'd have to settle for "close" with paint.

Replacement
Just a thought. I had a friend that crushed one of the fiberglass fender guards on his travel trialer. He could not find a replacement so he took the one on the other side of the trailer off and used it as a mold to make a new one out of fiber glass.
If you knew someone that had the same model Hi Lo you maybe could use his as a mold to make yourself one.
Just a tip I thought I'd pass along.

Getting a bumper cover.
Larry H,where are you located? Perhaps another HiLo owner lives near you. I was thinking about boat shops and how they repair fiberglass. What happened to yours?

Sorry for my earlier post Larry - I completely missed that you said the cover was made of fiberglass on your trailer. It's a metal flap on mine, mounted with a long piano hinge.
Could you make or have one made of aluminum instead of fiberglass?

Jack, I think he is referring to the fiberglass that covers the whole bumper like the material that now covers car bumpers.

Thanks, Rich. I guess the design changed more than I thought. The current design certainly seems more practical to me.

Thanks to all of you for your ideas. I believe I will copy what may have been Jack and Janet's idea of doing away with the fiberglass cover, painting the bumper black, then manufacturing a metal cover for the bumper that uses the long piano hiinge.
